The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), for our students from Years 1 to 6, focuses on inquiry-based learning and developing internationally-minded individuals. The PYP provides a framework of six transdisciplinary themes to explore the world and foster a love of learning. The culmination of the experience is the PYP Exhibition where students showcase their learning in diverse and creative ways, evidencing their understanding and agency through taking action.
Tailored for our Year 7 to Year 11 students, the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) emphasises critical thinking and connecting learning to real-world issues. The programme culminates in a personal project demonstrating student inquiry and application of their acquired skills.
A rigorous pre-university course for students in Year 12 and Year 13, the IB Diploma Programme (DP) is recognised globally for its academic breadth and depth. Students study six subjects, while also undertaking core components such as the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, which promote independent research and critical thinking skills.
The IB Career-related Programme (CP), offered to Year 12 and Year 13 students, combines real-word and practical career-related studies with academic rigour. The CP integrates a career-related core consisting of 4 components, with students offered to take two or more DP subjects. The CP prepares students for future pathways including apprenticeships, higher education and entry into employment.

After over a decade of attending Discovery College, I can proudly say that I have never felt more part of a community and DC has become my second home and my family. Whether it be students, parents or staff; every person in our community has shown immense passion and kindliness to my cultivation and education. I will be forever grateful to my school for raising me through my whole childhood.

As a DCPTA member, I seek to work alongside the school to further strengthen parent connections and to add to the wonderful experience our children are already having at Discovery College. I hope to understand the needs of the community better and work alongside other parents to create special memories and bonds that they will cherish.

I'm Fabiana Drew, passionate about creating an outstanding educational experience for our kids. I've worked as a School inspector in England, checking out schools and ensuring they're top-notch. That experience was eye-opening, and it made me realise the incredible power parents have in shaping the educational journey for our little ones and the support we can provide to our hardworking teachers. I'm beyond thrilled for the opportunity to serve our school community as a member of the DC PTA.

Since DC is a school that teaches IB, we have the opportunity to learn and present our learning through multiple methods other than essays and exams.

I think the best part of learning in DC is the open minded approach the school has about different concepts of learning. New ideas are allowed to be explored during classes but the crucial part is allowing these ideas to flourish beyond class.

One of the best things about DC was the open mindedness of staff and the sense of inclusiveness felt by every student, including those who were a little different. People often ask me in university - “Would you have gone to a different school if you could”? The simple answer is, No, I wouldn't do it any differently.
